Simple DIY Dishwashing Soap with Natural Ingredients

    Ingredients

    1. Borax
    2. Washing soda
    3. White vinegar
    4. Water
    5. Your favorite essential oil

    Preparation

    1. Measure 1 tablespoon (2g) of Borax in a large bowl, mix with 1 tablespoon (14g) of washing soda, 1/2cup (120ml) of essential oil, and 2 tablespoons (30ml) of white distilled vinegar. Stir the mixture thoroughly to ensure all the ingredients properly blend.

    2. Put 21/2 cups (600ml) of water in a saucepan and heat it with a stove; it should take approximately 5 to 10 minutes to boil. Drop the hot pan from the stove and gradually pour your Borax mixture into the boiled water. Stir the mixture in a slightly vigorous manner after each addition to ensure the soap is mixed correctly. Be sure to use protective gloves when taking this second step, and also be careful not to allow the hot mixture to touch your skin during the process.

    3. Allow the soap cool before taking it out of the saucepan; it should take about 20 to 30 minutes to be at room temperature. Pour the soap mixture into a dispenser and place it beside your kitchen sink for use

    Tips

    1. You can add some soap making dye to give it any color you want, though this is optional, and it doesn’t help the cleaning process.

    2. Recycle old dishwashing soap bottle laying around the house, remove any old soap residue by rinsing the container.

    3. Although the homemade soap may have few suds and bubbles unlike the commercially produced one, the homemade formula still retains its cleaning ability, and you can use it for washing all types of dishes and cooking utensils.
